Tuesday, March 23, 2021, marks the virtual World Premiere of Lisa Neher’s one-woman, micro opera Par for the Course.
This amazing piece written for unaccompanied voice centers around Babe Zaharias who was arguably one of the best athletes of the 20th century. She won two Olympic gold medals in track and field, over 82 golf tournaments in a short career, and was named in Sports Illustrated‘s “Top Ten Athletes of the 20th Century” (the only woman to make the cut). This snapshot into her prolific career occurs at the moment she discovers that she has been denied the chance to play in the US Open simply because she was a woman.
The One Voice Project micro opera festival will run from March 22-26 and feature one new opera released each day. Tickets are pay-as-you-can, and you don’t want to miss these other incredible performers!
